Once home to generations of Ming and Qing dynasty emperors, this vast imperial complex offers a fascinating glimpse into China’s dynastic past.

  • Day 3 – Beijing → Juyongguan Pass → Beijing:

Today, you’ll visit one of the world’s most iconic landmarks, the Great Wall of China. While the earliest sections date back over 2,000 years, much of what you see today was built between the 14th and 17th centuries during the Ming Dynasty. Winding through rugged mountain landscapes, the Wall offers unforgettable views at every turn.

You’ll explore the Juyong Pass, one of the most accessible and striking sections. On the way, stop at one of Asia’s largest jade exhibitions to learn about China’s most revered gemstone. After lunch, visit a cloisonné factory to see the intricate art of metalwork come to life.

You'll then journey to the exquisite Summer Palace, a vast 716-acre retreat of lakes, gardens and pavilions, with the man-made Kunming Lake at its heart. Originally established in 1153 and expanded in 1750, it served as a summer haven for imperial families and is now recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The evening is at your leisure.

    Highlights

  • Walk the Great Wall at Juyong Pass
  • Summer Palace
  • Jade exhibition and cloisonné workshop visit
  • Day 4 – Beijing:

Begin the day with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, an elegant example of Ming architecture, where emperors once prayed for bountiful harvests. This serene complex is a peaceful contrast to the grandeur of earlier sights.

Next, you’ll then visit a traditional Chinese medical clinic to learn about time-honoured practices, with the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing foot massage.

The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. You might choose to stroll along Wangfujing, Beijing’s famous shopping street known for its mix of big-name brands, quirky local stalls, and a market filled with tempting street snacks, including the not-so-tempting treats like bugs!

  • Traditional Chinese medicine clinic and foot massage
  • Day 5 – Beijing → Suzhou:

This morning, board a high-speed train bound for Suzhou.

Spend the rest of the day strolling along the Shantang Street, one of Suzhou’s most famous ancient streets known for its picturesque canals, stone bridge, and traditional architecture.

    Day 6 – Suzhou → Wuxi:

After breakfast, you’ll explore the Lingering Garden, which is considered one of Suzhou’s many UNESCO-listed classical gardens. Originally built in 1593, it’s a serene showcase of traditional Chinese design, where architecture and nature exist in perfect harmony.

Then, visit to a traditional silk spinning mill, where you’ll see how the delicate threads of silkworms are expertly transformed into luxurious fabric, a craft Suzhou has perfected over centuries.

Later, travel to Wuxi, a city that blends natural beauty with industrial innovation. Set between the Yangtze River and the vast Lake Tai, Wuxi offers scenic views and a fascinating look at China’s rapid development. Often regarded as a cornerstone of the country’s modern economy, it also serves as a key regional hub near Shanghai.
