YOUR CRUISE IN DETAIL

12 Night Cruise sailing from New York to Quebec aboard Zuiderdam.

The ms Zuiderdam began her inaugural season in 2002 as the first ship in our Vista-class series. She embraces the latest industry and environmental technologies such as her use of a diesel-electric power plant for optimal energy efficiency and an Azipod propulsion system.

At the heart of the ms Zuiderdam, suspended in a three-story atrium, a Waterford Crystal Seahorse sets the mood for exquisite pieces of art to be seen throughout this elegant ship. Other notable pieces include a painting of Queen Beatrix by pop culture artist and icon, Andy Warhol, medallions by Frank Lloyd Wright, cast aluminum elevator doors inspired by the art deco work of the New York Chrysler Building, and a massive floral painting by Charles Ben. You will also discover a large collection of antiques and centuries-old paintings throughout the ship.

Highlights of this cruise:

New York
New York, New York is one of the major cities in the world and also one of the top tourist destinations in America. Also known as the Big Apple, the lively and bustling metropolis of New York City is full of interesting sights and major landmarks.

Many of New York's major landmarks and tourist attractions are known and loved throughout the world. Some of the top tourist attractions in New York include the Empire State Building , the Chrysler Building, Central Park, Times Square, Brooklyn Bridge and of course the enormous Statue of Liberty.

There are many museums in New York such as the Museum of the City of New York on Fifth Avenue, which houses an enormous amount of New York memorabilia and information. New York also has a large number of top art galleries, exhibiting many works of art from local and international artists.

Bar Harbor
Bar Harbor is a town on Mount Desert Island in Hancock County, Maine, United States. Bar Harbor is home to the largest parts of Acadia National Park, including Cadillac Mountain, the highest point within 25 miles (40 km) of the coastline of the Eastern United States, and offshore, the Porcupine Islands.

Bar Harbor is a great base from which to bike, hike and sail around Maine’s Desert Island. It is very crowded in Summer, but the weather is still nice during September and early October. Lu Lu’s Lobster Boat Tour is a must and the Asticou Azalea Gardens is worth a visit.

Sydney
Sydney is a Canadian urban community in the province of Nova Scotia. It is situated on the east coast of Cape Breton Island. Together with Sydney Mines, North Sydney, New Waterford and Glace Bay it forms the Industrial Cape Breton region.

Tourist attractions in Sydney include Wentworth Park, the newly revitalized waterfront area and Jost House and Cossitt House which date back to the earliest settlement of the city. Most sights within the downtown are within walking distance, however most major tourist sights are well outside of the city.

Quebec
Quebec City is the capital of the Canadian province of Quebec. Located at a commanding position on cliffs overlooking the St. Lawrence Seaway, Quebec City's Old Town is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and the only city in North America outside Mexico with its original city walls. In both parts of the Old City - Haute and Basse - the winding cobbled streets are flanked by seventeenth- and eighteenth-century stone houses and churches, graceful parks and squares, and countless monuments.

Many sights of interest are in the Old Town (Vieux-Québec), which constitutes the walled city on top of the hill. Many surrounding neighbourhoods, either in Haute-Ville ("Upper Town") or in Basse-Ville ("Lower Town"), are of great interest. The city spreads westward from the St. Lawrence River, for the most part extending from the original old city. The true downtown core of Quebec City is located just west of the old city. Across the river from Quebec City is the town of Lévis. Frequent ferry service connects the two sides of the river.
